Story: In Philadelphia, Billy Batson is an abandoned child who is harassing child services and authorities with his mother's stubborn shield. However, in his latest foster home, Billy makes a new friend, Freddy, and sees Wizard Shazam choosing himself to be his new champion. Now that the wizard's name has been immediately blessed with the ability to become an adult superhero, Billy happily explores his new powers with Freddie. However, Billy soon realizes that he has a deadly enemy, Doctor Adeus Sivana, who was previously rejected by the wizard and instead confessed to the power of the seven deadly sins. Now, even for his own strength, through this mad scientist, Billy has to face his calling responsibilities, while his real family learns of a special magical power that Sivana can never understand.
